It's Ryan Van Winkle day on the Poetry School blog! We're lucky enough to have Ryan leading a course for us - called 'Read Like a Writer, Write like a Reader' - at the Scottish Poetry Library where he is the Reader in Residence. In this course, he shares the best advice that he was given: ‘read like a writer’, and we have a look a some of his poems and podcasts.

After featuring a number of our tutors over the last few weeks, hearing about what makes them tick poetry-wise and learning about their different approaches to teaching, we thought we'd turn the spotlight onto our students. We caught up with Kim Moore, a poet who has taken a number of Poetry School courses and workshops in Manchester and who won an Eric Gregory Award earlier this year. Here, Kim talks about her trumpet obsession, no-nonsense poetry and a Northern poetry scene. She has kindly let us publish one of her poems, 'Moth Hour', which can be read below.
