Bridge Building

Meet on Westminster Bridge for a morning of looking, absorbing – and gathering ideas for poems on whatever aspect strikes you as we walk. Respond to the river or the skyline – like Wordsworth early on a summer morning long ago! – or to the bridges or street entertainers. Return to the Poetry School for an afternoon’s writing, in which you’ll aim to develop your early drafts into a more finished piece. (In case of bad weather, we have a plan B!)

Christine Webb

Christine Webb’s After Babel was published by Peterloo Poets in 2004, and in 2007 her poem ‘Seven Weeks’ won the Poetry London competition, while ‘Salt’ won second prize in Mslexia. In 2009 she was awarded a Distinction for her Creative Writing MA, and in 2011 her next collection, Catching Your Breath – which celebrates and mourns her partner of many years – was published by Cinnamon Press. She has given many readings up and down the country, and particularly in London: although she is not a Londoner, she finds the city a constantly fascinating source for new poems.

See http://www.poetrypf.co.uk/christinewebbpage.html for more about Christine, and http://www.cinnamonpress.com/catching-your-breath/ for details of her new collection.
