Booking Information

How to book

  • Book online. Most activities are bookable directly through the website. In order to book online you will need to register with us here. If your email address is already on our system, but you don't know your password, you can request a new one by clicking 'forgotten password' - a new randomly generated password will be emailed to you.

  • Book by phone – call 0207 582 1679 Monday to Friday, 10am – 5pm to book and pay with a credit / debit card over the phone. N.B. Phone bookings will incur a £1.50 booking fee.

  • Book by post – send a cheque together with details of the activity/ies you'd like to book to the Poetry School, 81 Lambeth Walk, London SE11 6DX. Please include your name, address, email address and phone number; and copies of proof of any concessionary status.

Places will only be confirmed when we’ve received your full payment or worked out a mutually agreed payment plan. We will send receipts by email. If you're booking by post and would like a paper receipt, please enclose a SAE with your booking form.

Prices

Each activity has three prices listed. The first is the standard price. The second is the price for all people who are aged 60+. The third is the concessionary rate. Concessions are available for 25s and under, full time students, people receiving Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credit or whose sole source of income is the state retirement pension. Please note that you may be required to provide proof of eligibility for our concessionary rates. If you are unsure of which price you should pay, please contact the office.

We have a grants scheme for those who need assistance with paying for activities, and can organise payment plans for those who would like to pay in installments.

Changes to the programme

All details in our printed programme are correct at the time of going to press. Any subsequent changes made will be updated on this site and we will inform students enrolled as necessary. Poetry courses and workshops are dynamic activities and advertised content may occasionally be adapted to take account of students' needs.

Refunds

If you need to cancel a course or workshop you have booked, we will give you a full refund if you let us know four weeks before the start date. After that, we will refund you if we can fill your place from a waiting list. There are no refunds available for talks and readings, and any requests for seminar and tutorial refunds will be discussed on an individual basis. If we cancel a course, workshop, talk or reading, we will refund you in full.
