Hire our Venues

If you are looking for a venue to facilitate your own teaching, workshops, meetings or other gatherings, the Poetry School has three flexible spaces for hire at very affordable rates. Rooms are available most weekdays and some weekends.

Location

Situated on Lambeth Walk, the Poetry School is located in a central and convenient area for public transport and is within walking distance of several tube stations including Waterloo (10-15 minutes), Vauxhall (10-15 minutes) and Lambeth North (5-10 minutes). There are also many buses to take you to and from the premises: 3, 12, 59, 76, 159, 341, 344.

About the rooms

We have three meeting rooms available for hire:

Rooms 1 & 2

Room 1 seats up to 16 people comfortably (boardroom style). There is a movable partition which allows for the flexibility of combining  this space with Room 2, which can seat a further 14. Combined it is possible to seat up to 30 people.

Room 3

Room 3 can seat 16 people (boardroom style) with a further space for break-out sessions at the rear of the room.

Rooms 1 and 2 are fully accessible on the ground floor with disabled toilet, hearing loop etc. Rooms 1 and 3 have separate entrances. All rooms are on the ground floor.

Facilities

Tea and coffee are included, free Wi-Fi available & use of flipcharts and whiteboards. For presentations, you can bring your own laptop and project on to a white wall. We can supply a projector for a small hire fee (please let us know if you need a projector so we can check availability).

We can set up the room to suit your needs - boardroom, circle, theatre-style etc. We can also assist with catering if required. 

Prices

The price is £150 per day (9am-5pm), shorter periods are calculated pro-rata. The fee allows you to use both Room 1 and 2, or Room 3, creating flexibility to have your breaks away from the meeting. Discounts are available for charities and longer/shorter times are calculated pro-rata. In the evenings and weekends we add a caretaker’s fee of £25.
